Re: Metergoline - 5-ht1a antagonist

Re: Help - depression hitting again, can TCA help?

I had learnt one thing with serotoninergics - never take any psychoactive drug chronically as it can lead to unexpected consequences. In my case ADs were perfectely tolerated during first four months - 0 sexual and emotional A/E, while helping greatly with anxiety. Only after 5-6 months some sexual...

Re: Why im leaving this forum

I never said to go back on SSRIs, im just saying, don't block out professional help. Because we know what path that leads to, and it's pure misery. Deciding to self medicate and thinking that doctors are useless is not beneficial for mental health. There are plenty of other meds other than SSRIs. I...

Re: Why im leaving this forum

emotional blunting, and anhedonia, even separately are also associated with severe depression. This is something that most doctors will tell you. Now i thought this was bullshit when i had complete emotional numbness & anhedonia after SSRIs, i thought they destroyed my soul. But i realised, tha...

Re: Why im leaving this forum

I suppose it's possible, but i cant find any evidence for it. SSRIs have been studied to the ends of earth & back, this would surely have shown up considering how serious a condition Anhedonia is. Even if we knew this is caused by the SSRI, what's the treatment? Self medicating isn't the way ou...

Re: Why im leaving this forum

Yes, while the drug is in your system. That's what i said in my original post. Doctors are aware of that side effect and have multiple strategies to deal with it. So why is it so far-fetched that SSRi-induced anhedonia can persist as well, especially when it is closely correlated with SSRI-induced ...
