Hi guys,

I think one of the biggest fall-outs of using SSRI's (I've stopped 3 years ago, but some symptoms still persist) is the overthinking and unwanted thoughts that invade my brain and deplete my energy. I feel like it's almost like a mania that's been created; brain cells have been rearranged in the wrong order, and it takes some serious dedication to put things back together.

I get these horrible repetitive thoughts, and it's almost as if the thoughts that you want to avoid come in at exactly the time that you don't want them to come in. It's like a form of trying to defeat oneself, to deny yourself happiness. It's very strange.

I'm wondering if anyone has had experiences using supplements or vitamins to calm these thoughts? I find the more I overthink, the more anxious I am, the more my focus and libido suffers.

I've heard of good reports from inositol and cyproheptadine. Also making sure you're getting B vitamins. Make sure you are eating enough calories and not stressing yourself out by avoiding the signs that your blood sugar is off. This can be a cyclical process, so I suspect you can take the edge off the thoughts by focusing on diet, sleep, b-vitamins, and perhaps inositol/cypro as needed.

Another thing to note. Get your genome tested (23andMe). This will tell you a ton of information on your genetic predispositions to conditions and other health stuff, and I know Ghost is always looking for more genomes to add to the data set. For example, you could perhaps find out that you have some B12 deficiency defect and need to supplement. All of this could ultimately help you with your OCD troubles.

Thanks, Juvo. Blood sugar is a valid point, as I find my OCD acts up pre-lunch, and once I eat something heavy for lunch I'm much calmer. Still, I get OCD at the worst possible moments (performance anxiety), and I know for a fact that these are irrational thoughts and doubts.

I did feel much better after taking a men's multivitamin for a few weeks, which included B-vitamins and inositol.

It's good that you still have OCD, because SSRI completly stole my mild OCD in the same time with emotions.

I'm sorry to hear that. May I suggest meditation of some sort, to help you restore a sense of self again?

Hi!
I was on Sertraline 4 years ago,1 year duration tapered off very slowly,i had sexual themed obsessive thoughts,it was very frustrating. I was cured after that 99% if one thought came back i could swipe it away after 1 minute and forget it. But this August i got a trauma, that i think lowered my serotonin and crashed my brain chemistry. So it came back like a snap. I was driving then a snap, not thougts came back but the compulsion that i needed to say to myself that i dont want to be gay(I'm straight, i was straight,i neved had any contact with same sex,ohh shit this complaining impulse so much anxiety in me) and 3 weeks ago i suffering from it again... I doubt everytime,i need to make sure i get arousal from women and think to focuse on womans, and avoiding eye contact with my homies and shit like that. Yeah i neved had any pssd after the treatment i was happy and everything was cool. I already forgot that i had this problem and what was my problem. Yeah, while on the drugs i had 0 libido, but i avoided any sexual content because i didnt want to see penises in porno. I had brain fog, but as i slowly tapered off everything was going back to normal. Right now im on a moclobemide therapy(i dont know if it helps,i take it from august 8.,but i don't have a good mood,or reduced symptoms.) I said to my therapist that i have a fear of sexual dysfunction, but again, with sertraline i didnt had any after the treatment.
Now i want to try 5-htp,milk thistle (they say it as potent as 30 mg fluoxetine,d vitamin and i found a guy that had cured his symptoms just like me with probiotics, they work in the brain gut axis, google it.) Researchers now focus on so called psyhcobiotics, that works by providing the braim with nutrients. Lactobacillus rhamnosus is the most potent they say. But people need to take more strains than one,the more the better. I found an LCD breathing technique,by some Khalsa or somebody. Scientific study says if doing correctly it can eliminate ocd in 90 days!! This meditation is a breathing meditation that act on the vagus nerve, producing GABA. Tryink b vitamins also and zinc. I hope i will be cured again... Right now im a disabled person,i was a very happy and very active person, but right now im depressed, and doing nothing..
If you have any hint regarding my status,or an advice please share it.
(Got to mention: i had migraine, that is affected by low serotonin SO both disease is chronic they say. But i did not have any migraine headache for 5 years. OCD came in his place. So i think that i could eliminate OCD again, and stay that way. My relapse is my mistake also bcz i went on the internet and panicked in from the results of a surgery. So i had obsessed by this fear of surgery late effects, then i got a conversation with a doc,he calmed me down i was the old myself, after that i had pain in my chest,i thought i have panic attacks, then I remembered that I had reflux that caused this problem,so i calmed down again, and was my old self again, then this old obsessive thinking came back like a snap when the elevated mood went away. It was like a snap or a door opened in my brain, saying the thought Hi there!)
Thanks for reading. I think somebody looks up this meditation too.

Zyprexa. I originally got it from my doctor to try to cure my PSSD by raising dopamine and serotonin levels and it didn't work. But I did notice that my intrusive thoughts from OCD weren't as bad in both impact and quantity and I've remained on it since. I was very surprised to see that Zyprexa isn't officially used for OCD considering how much it helped me.
Male. Took citalopram for 6 weeks, three years later and still no improvement.

Googling it,but did it eliminated the symptoms and thoughts? With sertraline i had no thought or very rare but while on the drug, after the time passed,it was like just never happened, the thoughts got killed, eliminated, just like never happened. How much it cost on prescription and what was the side effects?
