Ginkgo is working pretty well for me. I've also been taking a few other things, but I'm still playing with it so I don't want to speculate yet. I think that the Zinc + Ginkgo combo is helping.

Hopefully this helps people. I haven't been around here much lately, but after finals I'll have more time again.

How much zinc/gingko/maca is everyone taking? I must be on the wrong doses because I've been on this combo for three months now and nothing is changing :P

im honestly have no idea if they have the same effect for females... i tought zinc is mainly involved in testosterone and maca is great for erections and libido, so idk if that applies to you.. the gingko supposedly has to do with bloodflow and norepinephrine. anyhow im taking 50mg zinc, about 1gram of maca and the gingko i cant recall but its 2 caps

Hmm... thanks for letting me know. I take 2 teaspoons of maca (apparently that's 8 grams), 100mg of zinc, and 240mg of gingko (2 caps). Maybe less is more for females?

Do you also experience flushing of the face after taking ginkgo? I don't know if it's a good or bad sign.

To people who benefit from ginkgo.
1. How long before you felt difference?
2. What doses were effective?
If possible please provide also brand and/or type of extract. I quickly scanned those at iherb and all seem to be the same (standardized to 24% Ginkgo flavone glycosides and 6% terpene lactones) but maybe there are some differences...

Ginkgo question

Unread post by taarn »

Maybe this is a stupid question but is that possible ginkgo being an 5-ht1a agonist can possibly cause desensitization for the receptors when used long term? I'm using ginkgo for a few years now to help with circulation in my peripherals. I suspect that it was a negative factor in the development of my symptoms..

Any thoughts?
