Clinical trial that is attempting to treat small fiber neuropathy

I found that there is a clinical trial going on for a treatment for small fiber neuropathy using immune globulin (IVIG). Dr. Christopher Gibbons at Harvard Medical School is the principal investigator. The trial assumes a link between an immune reaction and small fiber neuropathy. Supposedly there i...

I found that there is a clinical trial going on for a treatment for small fiber neuropathy. Dr. Christopher Gibbons is the principal investigator. The trial assumes a link between an immune reaction and small fiber neuropathy. The study was supposed to be completed on June 1, 2021. I don’t know if w...

Re: PSSD could be small fiber polyneuropathy

A study recently came out saying that it is extremely likely that the Epstein-Barr-Virus causes Multiple sclerosis (MS) based on correlation data. MS is one of the only other examples I could find of a condition that causes genital numbness and anorgasmia. Maybe if this new finding leads to more res...

Healy is doing this for himself. Getting the EMA to recognize the condition via his petition gets him attention. If he truly cared about the condition, he would do some non-keyboard warrior research. How many people are in the NY or Boston area and would be willing to have the biopsies done if paid...

Re: PSSD could be small fiber polyneuropathy

Merkel nerves are a type of small fiber. They are unmyelinated too. So, yes, small fiber neuropathy can include damage to these nerves. The other poster may not have gotten proper benchmarks to his biopsies. Again, wouldn’t it be nice if we stopped chatting and had 50 or 100 people out of the thous...

Re: PSSD could be small fiber polyneuropathy

I have very low testosterone levels and believe that I have suffered a loss of strength because of it. I measure the pace of my runs and I have been getting slower even when I do a running routine that in the past boosted my endurance. I haven’t seen the other symptoms that you mentioned yet, but ma...

Re: PSSD could be small fiber polyneuropathy

This theory makes a lot of sense. I used to always feel this tightness in my joints. Since I was in first grade, I would constantly crack my knuckles. I thought that Sertraline was “working” because I would crack my knuckles less while on it. Since I’ve had PSSD, I barely ever feel the urge to crack...
