Re: Spinal tap and 100% resolution of PSSD

Yes, one can have a deletion of the CYP2D6 gene, leading to total absence of this enzyme. The linked paper suggests it is 4-6% occurrence in some ethnicities. But it is more common to have a mutation leading to reduced expression or function. And one would have to inherit the gene deletion from both...

Re: Could the mods add a “cured stories” section?

It's a good idea. There are many such stories buried in the archives of this forum, and it wouldn't be such a pain to find them if this section existed in the first place. I am thinking it could be called "success stories" to be a little more broad. I worry however that if we create it rig...

Re: Anyone else feel like they can’t fall back asleep anymore?

Sounds like anxiety. Stress/anxiety can put you in a state of hyperarousal in which you feel "tired but wired." You can retrain your mind out of this state with the right methods. I can recommend a book, "Untangle your Anxiety" (audiobook), as well as a podcast that applies a sim...

Re: Scam warning: Ryan Ballow/Cortex Labs

Oh yeah, no scammer ever posts Youtube videos to gain a following. Sure. Scammers make grandiose claims but refuse to provide evidence, and get angry when confronted. Such as Ballow claiming he's cured 50+ people of PSSD without evidence, and hurling insults at me for questioning him. And then he ju...

It's possible the increased consumption of nitrates from arugula enhanced your nitric oxide levels, which can improve EQ. L-citrulline is also good at increasing nitric oxide.

Re: PSSD/PFS/PAS - The P450 Enzymes - Possible Mechanism

I keep coming back to this thread... You can test your genes for mutations in CYP2D6 leading to reduced expression. However, there is no way SSRI or other drugs metabolized by CYP2D6 are still in one's system long after stopping, as you would still have a decent amount of enzymes, it's just that dr...

Yes pretty much the same, although selegiline metabolizes to methamphetamine in small amounts which may or may not be physiologically relevant, but will cause failed drug test.

See 1st post for symptoms. It felt similar to how you described. No I did not try wellbutrin but I did benefit from rasagiline which boosts dopamine signalling.

Re: Pssd

People who are recovered (like myself after 8 yrs of PSSD) will tell you no. No one can know whether any case is permanent or not, even if it has gone on for many years. Some will simply decide that this is sufficient evidence to believe it is permanent, and that every recovery story never really ha...
