Re: Does tapering really lower chances of PSSD?
Sorry but i have seen zero literature that shows that abrupt discontinuation would cause pssd (other than an assumption perhaps). Withdrawal symptoms, sure but that is not the same. Fair enough. I said that because abrupt withdrawal is the number one factor for withdrawal symptoms and, in my opinio...

Re: Does tapering really lower chances of PSSD?
according to the literature, abrupt withdrawal is the #1 risk factor for developing PSSD and withdrawal syndrome in general. Its true in my case for sure, I've done slow tapers off of multiple drugs and had no issues. But abrupt discontinuation from escitalopram caused severe PSSD.

Re: Improvement and suggestions.
I think i am honestly on track to curing myself. I believe mirtazapine or trazadone to be the final "piece" to the puzzle as everything seems to be SERT affecting my Dopamine and Norepinephrine. still trying to understand how each drug works at each respective dose i hear conflicting thin...

Re: A person's devastating and life destroying experience on SSRI escitalopram
I've heard several sources stating that L-dopa is neurotoxic, what do you think about that? by itself, the statement 'l-dopa is neurotoxic' is ridiculous. L-dopa is a crucial amino acid in humans and animals. there has been some debate if the longterm use of high doses of levodopa can cause neuroto...

Re: A person's devastating and life destroying experience on SSRI escitalopram
Any effect from Wellbutrin/ l Dopa? Yes, they were both key to the recovery I have made so far. They both helped my sexual dysfunction. for a while, although the effects mostly faded. The real value was in treating my cognitive symptoms. At my worst, I was disabled due to brain fog, avolition, and ...

Re: A person's devastating and life destroying experience on SSRI escitalopram
I had a similar experience after abrupt withdrawal from citalopram. I'm pretty convinced PSSD in my case was caused by 5HT2A activation (and other receptors, certainly). To treat it, I worked backwards from all of the symptoms I was experiencing. Brain fog, anhedonia, emotional blunting- these are a...

Re: chronic weight gain, please help
Your weight gain sounds dramatic. This isn't something you should be trying to research or treat yourself. A doctor would take this very seriously.

Re: Help with 23andme data
you can take a test from Genomind or something similar, that will give you a profile more related to drug metabolism. But this is just suggestive data, I dont think theres anything actionable there. Drug metabolism is a complex, polygenic process, and there isn't enough data to draw any real inferen...

Re: Crash after covid vaccination
There is some evidence that COVID-19 may be associated with erectile dysfunction. There is 0 published evidence that the vaccine causes sexual side effects.

Re: Drugs/supplements that improves pssd permamently.
Rebound from acute 5-ht2a inverse agonists like mirtazapine improves a bit emotional blunting and anaesthesia. The effect seems additive and somewhat persistent. Works only in non-depressed mood, probably via cytokine pathway ( TNF-a is indirectly pro-glutaminergic, affects synaptic plasticity: acu...
