So i talked with Dr. Goldstein! His agency gave me a really nice service and he is a really nice and emphatic doctor! The shrinkage problem isnt that easy and he didnt see a lot of cases with shrinkage in connection with pssd. He told me to write an email with all my symptoms and my whole story. We didnt have much time but i will definitely stay in contact with him.
I will update you when i have new infos!

I was lucky enough to meet with Dr. Goldstein recently. As others have said, he is an amazing person and doctor. He believes in PSSD, and has seen a fair number of cases in the past. There is a presentation that he gives to every patient. I know that not everyone here is going to be able to meet with Dr. Goldstein, so I would like to eventually replicate his work for anyone to see here.

Additionally, I suggest that everyone takes the blood tests that he makes people get. These are the same tests that I have run in the past on myself in my intro thread. The other things that I might add to that is progesterone, and that’s something that I want to do in the future also. If you can rule out hormones as a problem (on the outside), then Goldstein moves to other things. He talks about Flibanserin, and prescribes that a lot. He also likes to prescribe Cialis and penile injections. The injections work. If you give an injection, you will get erect (and very hard). Everyone here should know that this is an option if they need it. It’s a good fallback if nothing else is helping you - not even cialis or viagra.

Ok the other thing is the scans that he does. I suggest that more people go to Goldstein because he does scanning. What is he scanning for? Scarring on the penis. A lot of PFS and PSSD people have it. I have it. It scares me that I have penis scarring, but Goldstein has a treatment that often reverses it. He is still experimenting, and this isn’t something that you can do at home safely so I don’t feel comfortable talking about it for safety reasons. However, it is an option if you go see him, and I have started on this treatment protocol. He says that a few PSSD and PFS patients have seen great success on it. I suggest that everyone who can afford to see Dr. Goldstein should. He is the a leading expert and the more people with PSSD he sees, the more he will learn.

Goldstein was happy when he learned that I lead this forum and many other PSSD projects. He wants greater PSSD awareness and gave me a few copies of his book: “The Potent Male”. He wants me to give them to anyone who is interested.

HERE IS THE MOST CRITICAL PART:

HE WANTS TO DO A STUDY. YES, that is correct. He wants to do a study. He was VERY excited that I might be able to raise funds for this study. He already has a researcher who he is working with, and can immediately begin working on a grant proposal. If there is ANYONE who could donate a large portion of this study, please do not hesitate to inform me. Dr. Goldstein is world-renowned and this might be a one-time opportunity. I’ll be posting about it more in the coming days, but this is legitimate, and he is very excited to do this. I’m not sure how we’d collect donations at this time, but I’ll keep in contact with him.

He says:

“We do have a Basic Science PhD researcher who is Chief Scientist, Institute for Sexual Medicine (ISM) here at SDSM.  We are seeking generous research funding. We are looking at approximately $250,000 for the initial detailed project - that would involve administration of placebo and an SSRI such as lexapro and performing a host of critical experiments to understand how SSRI exposure may cause erectile dysfunction. Such basic science research is VERY IMPORTANT to all the individuals who have suffered from PSSD”

Hi Ghost,

It's good to know that PSSD is getting some attention at least. Did you know you had scarring prior to seeing Dr Goldstein? I've read that people with scarring can usually feel where the scar is. Perhaps this is not true of every case though.

This are some good news. I think the most of persons with PSSD have a scarring. When its a bad scarring, it becomes to a shrinkage, what i am experiencing. It sounds really good that he says he has a treatment for that but i must say that i have some doubts. The most important question for me is, if that treatment makes the scarring REVERSIBLE and not just avoids it. Getting my old size back would make me and maybe a lot of other people more optimistic.

For the study: Maybe Dr. Goldstein and David Healy should get in contact( if they already aren't) and work together. I think at the moment they are the most interested and experienced doctors about PSSD and PFS. Also the rxisk prize maybe could be an initiative for them. If more qualified and known people connect, it's a win-win situation.

He has before and after scans from PSSD and PFS where they show it regenerate. Again, it's experimental, and not every person with PSSD may have it, but it's a trend that he sees. If people have more questions I'd suggest getting in touch with Dr. Goldstein.

I dont believe the scarring theory. The shrinkage is due to not having any libido. I can get perfectly good erections with ED pills, or a shot of PT141 but there is no desire or enjoyment if I have sex. I'll have a pleasureless orgasm and no release of oxytocin.

The scarring is a real thing. I saw gray scale US pics of patient who had that and after they were treated. I also saw mine that was clear of scarring. The scan he does is plain doppler US. I have couple of reason to think that what drives him is pation to help not just to earn money. I am glad you took initiativ ghost. I hope funding will be succesfull. And I hope treatment will be succesfull in your case. If there is anything I can help you with dont hasitate to ask

By scarring you mean fibrosis? That is detectable in a penile doppler, right? I've done one and everything was ok.

Thank you, marsupial. Yes there are pics that he has taken. Might not be the case for all PSSD people, but if you have this scarring, it is important to try to treat it because it can hurt erections badly. If you lose erections, you may lose some confidence, and therefore libido. This obviously isn't the whole story, but anything that we can do to help us is needed. I couldn't keep doing other treatments if I still knew I had scarring. Fixing the physical damage is first for me, and Goldstein thinks that this is what leads to our soft glans.
