Tramadol

Unread post by Chuck83 »

Next week I will have a hemorrhoidectomy, Tramadol is ok for pain or is it a SNRI? Can worsen my PSSD? It seems one of the few painkillers that does not devastate the stomach.

I dont have any experience with it but Wiki calls it an SNRI indeed, making it quite tricky to use i guess.

Did you ever use it? I have it for my neck but concerned whether it will cause issues?

No I used Codeine. Tramadol acts in a similar way to an SNRI, it doesn't seem safe for people with PSSD. Although any drug can cause problems with PSSD.

That's a good decision (codeine). There aren't many people who tried Tramadol, while having PSSD, for a long period of time. It has some serotonergic and noradrenergic effects so it could be bad for PSSD. Although I remember that a person on Reddit saying it helped with libido, it's still not worth the risk.

Pretty sure I got PSSD from tramadol. I'm one of the very few cases. I don't think there is anyone on this forum with pssd from tramadol. But there is one case of a guy in England who has had it since 2015 after using it for 7 months.

Was on tramadol and a statin for around a year when it hit me back in 2012. Prediabetes followed after the pssd. I've only had one window of 4 hours in the past 9 years.

I just wanted to say that I was addicted to Tramadol. I used it for several months.
I quit it cold turkey. It didn't cause me any PSSD problems.
That was in the year 1999.
I got PSSD in 2019 from Sertraline.

Once again, tramadol gave me pssd. I only used it for 3 days, however I took it in excess.
