Hello,
This post is not part of a formal research study and is meant more as an open discussion/trouble shooting.
I am Alaina, a medical student with the UIHC research team looking into PSSD. I wanted to reach out and ask about experiences with anti-inflammatory medications. These include your non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs) such as aspirin, celecoxib (Celebrex), ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil), ketorolac (toradol), and naproxen (Aleve). We also are curious about steroids such as prednisone, prednisolone, dexamethasone. The NSAIDs are often found over the counter and taken for inflammatory conditions while steroids are usually prescribed by a doctor and taken either oral or IV.
If you took any of these:
1) What did you take?
2) How long did you take them and at what dose?
3) Did you notice a change in symptoms (better or worse)?
4) Anything else we should know about them?
We are interested in knowing if symptoms changed but it is just as important for us to know if people have taken these without any changes.
This inquiry came up after discussion of a single anecdote. I want to emphasize that we have absolutely no date suggesting anti-inflammatories improve or worsen PSSD and this is not a recommendation or request to try medications without supervision of a physician.
Thank you

ibuprofen, naproxen, and flexorol regularly. 3 injections of torodal. several cycles of prednisone. none had any effect on PSSD symptoms.

Thank you. Seems most people report no improvement with anti-inflammatories so far.sovietxrobot wrote: ↑Wed May 05, 2021 8:36 am ibuprofen, naproxen, and flexorol regularly. 3 injections of torodal. several cycles of prednisone. none had any effect on PSSD symptoms.

1) Ibruprofen
2) One dose - 2x 200mg tablets
3) Developed PSSD after taking. Had taken antidepressants 2 months before, but didn't have sexual side effects on that one and everything seemed fine.
4) I don't know for sure it was that as also stopped propanolol a few days before and had a possible vaginal infection. Also immediately had menopause symptoms and confirmed in peri-menopause.
