Crash from masturbation

Unread post by Janzio »

So after about 4 and a half months of no improvements, a few weeks ago I started to have morning wood again, my libido increased, it didn't take me forever to ejaculate, my mood was spectacular, my cognitive issues were better and my semen volume increased to normal. Then I masturbated one night, had a massive and pleasurable orgasm. I didn't have morning wood the next day and my libido was low again and I noticed my mood dropped a little bit. I masturbated again, semen volume was good, but it wasn't as pleasurable as the night before. Then I masturbated again that night. Semen volume was low, less pleasurable orgasm and my mood dropped significantly. Since then I have had no morning erections anymore, my erections are poor, my libido has absolutely tanked, my mood is horrible again, and I have one new symptom: extreme premature ejaculation. I think my semen volume reduced again also. Has anybody permanently crashed from masturbating? Was I recovering and just completely fucked up my progress by ejaculating too much?

Quite a common issue I would say. Semen should not be your concern, sperm count should be, if you plan on having kids someday, somehow.

I think the best idea is to abstain from masturbation, it surely can induce sexual problems on its own as from anecdotal reports of no fap community. It's likely that your crash is acute and won't make you lose your progress long term.

@Janzio You don’t crash from masturbating every other night. If sexual functioning is normal, you can masturbate several times a week without suffering any negative consequences. From what you describe this was not „excessive masturbation“ so there’s absolutely no reason to assume that this worsened your condition. So the reason for your loss in libido is most probably something other than masturbation.

Bro I said that I masturbated twice in one day. Read my post again please. I masturbated one night, masturbated again the next day and then again at night during that same day. So it was about 3 times in 24 hours.

Bro, I was just trying to reassure you that you did nothing wrong. Btw, I understood you correctly, “every other night” was an unfortunate choice of words. Sorry for that, I’m not a native speaker.

To clarify: you can also masturbate twice or three times a day without suffering negative consequences. Masturbating twice in one day is pretty normal for a lot of men. In fact, I’ve known people (male and female) who masturbate up to 7 times per day without any negative consequences. There is absolutely no reason to think that masturbating twice and then again the next day causes any harm.

Generally, I think it’s a myth that masturbation is such a bad thing and that you shouldn’t do it if you feel like masturbating. As long as it doesn’t turn into compulsive behavior or is connected to excessive pornography consumption or any other harmful behavior, masturbating is ok. And once in the evening, then again the next morning and evening is far (!) from excessive.

Dude u have no idea what u talk about, masturbating 7 times a day can be detrimental to health. There are people who have ED simply from masturbation and there are thousands of anegdotal reports about it. Masturbation to porn is not healthy at all.

We aren't talking about normal people here, we are talking about people with PSSD. I am talking about a crash from masturbating.

Ok, then keep believing that masturbating three times in 24 hours leads to a “crash”. I’m out of that discussion. I just hope that all the reasonable people on that forum understand that masturbating if you feel like it is not an issue and watching porn now and then (not 24/7) neither. Maybe in some cases, the attitude towards it is the issue, though. If you overthink what you do and feel guilty, it’ll of course make you feel bad.

I’ve had PSSD for 15 years and have talked to a lot of people that suffer from PSSD about questions like masturbation. And what you are describing does not cause a crash. You just scare people off.

@guacamo Actually, I do know what I’m talking about. Many people who suffer from PSSD used to be hypersexual prior to taking an SSRI, so a strongly increased sex drive was their “normal” and they were completely healthy. We’re not talking about sex addiction here, though. This is something that even doctors who are interested in PSSD have come to realize.
