Mirtazapine
I was on lexapro for about 9 months. After I stopped taking it I am suffering from genital numbness and erectile dysfunction...penile shrinkage and very very flaccid..I went to see my psychiatrist again yesterday and did some blood work...everything seems to be normal except my Alt is 56 and I also have fatty liver which is getting better..other than that I feel great and energetic with brain zaps once in a while..I don’t feel depressed anymore but my psychiatrist is insisting me to take Mirtazapine for my sexual dysfunction..he said that it’s very important that I take that medicine or I might loose my erection forever..I am scared ..I am in huge dilemma..i would be grateful for any input please ..
Thanking you

Re: Mirtazapine
Go for it.
There’s a guy on reddit who cured his pssd from remeron.
Also, just want to pre-empt those who will inevitably jump in and say that they got pssd from remeron. Good for you. Lots of people for pssd from Prozac and it’s helping me a lot right now so save your comments.

Re: Mirtazapine
Mirtazapine, trazodone, or something similar should be a first-line treatment for PSSD. Sexual side effects from SSRIs are mostly linked to 5HT2 and possibly 5HT3.
Re: Mirtazapine
Some people got worse on it. I am not saying it cannot work, but there still is a risk to be aware of. Advice based on n=1 experience has limited guarantees.

Re: Mirtazapine
Jaxx we should be encouraging people to try things. Clinging to the last 10% of our sexual function and being afraid things because we might get worse isn’t logical. It’s like, Oh no! my nonexistent erection is even more nonexistent now.
Unless your pssd is extremely mild - you should go wild. When you have pssd you have little to lose and everything to gain.
An analogy that kind of makes sense to me is, that we’re at a slot machine at a casino and we’re trying to hit triple 7s. We aren’t going to run out of quarters, but we will eventually run out of time. So spin that shit.
Re: Mirtazapine
When newcomers ask for advice we definately should not encourage to “try things” or “go wild”.
There is a chance things go back to normal and often dont know the risks involved of many drugs or even supplements.
