Support needed: TV report about PSSD on German TV
Hi everybody,
North4 has already mentioned it in another post: A major German television network (ZDF) will air a feature about PSSD on one of the network’s morning shows soon. There will be four interviews with people who have suffered from PSSD and the focus will be on their personal story rather than on the pharma industry. The journalist has already contacted David Healy and knows about the EMA’s recent signal on PSSD.
HOWEVER, and this is where we need your help:
The directors of a quite influential German investigative programme are interested in airing a report on PSSD with a focus on the pharma industry/lobby. They are doing research and are looking for any proof/evidence showing that the seriousness of PSSD has been known by experts and the pharma industry for years. So, if there is anything that you think REALLY proves that PSSD has been known for years (like patient leaflets, statements by officials etc.), please post this here or contact North4 or me, Numby82, by PM. Thanks! We'll keep you updated on this and post the link to the programme once it is online.

The Dutch agency for side-effects has documented it for some time now.

Documentation of 2014, referring to persisting sexual side-effects after discontinuation (seems only available in Dutch) https://databankws.lareb.nl/Downloads/2 ... .Psych.pdf

Since 2011, the US product information for Prozac (fluoxetine) has warned that "Symptoms of sexual dysfunction occasionally persist after discontinuation of fluoxetine treatment." http://pi.lilly.com/us/prozac.pdf

eng wikipedia PSSD page removal by user called formely98 may be an interesting topic. He later confessed he made an account with dedication to delete this particular article and has worked in the past for pharma industry. Also whitewhashed a lot of pharma criticism and other drug side effects. RxiSK and Healy ran some backstory on him

Here are two things that not everyone in this forum knows:
Montejo et al.
Better sexual acceptability of agomelatine (25 and 50 mg) compared to escitalopram (20 mg) in healthy volunteers. A 9-week, placebo-controlled study using the PRSexDQ scale, 2015
From https://rxisk.org/wikipedia-editor-inse ... -in-mouth/Dr. Audrey Bahrick wrote:
"The Prozac product literature added a statement to the effect that “sexual side effects occasionally persist after medication discontinuation”. When I contacted the Eli Lilly Health Provider Line in 2012 to learn what prompted them to add this (and was bumped up several levels, then ultimately called back the following day by an individual who would identify herself only by first name, and credentials only when pressed as an R.N), I was told that reports of PSSD constitute .01 percent of Eli Lilly’s reports of adverse sexual events.
Montejo et al.
Better sexual acceptability of agomelatine (25 and 50 mg) compared to escitalopram (20 mg) in healthy volunteers. A 9-week, placebo-controlled study using the PRSexDQ scale, 2015
A follow-up visit (DEND) was performed five to seven days after the treatment discontinuation or after premature treatment withdrawal whatever its time of occurrence.[...]
SD with escitalopram treatment was reported to occur to a similar extent as that with paroxetine, to a similar or greater extent as that with the SNRI
duloxetine. Accordingly, the deterioration of the sexual acceptability by escitalopram detected here by mean of the PRSexDQ scale is in line, though slightly weaker than that obtained with
paroxetine in similar conditions (Montejo et al., 2010), and maintained up to the follow-up visit, one week after drug discontinuation.
