Hi, I'm from Argentina (male, in my late 40s). I've been treated for 20 years with paroxetine and benzodiazepins due to severe anxiety disorders. Around a year from end of treatment I developed PSSD. Tried everything. But to my surprise I'm getting good results with saffron (by this I mean Crocus Sativus, real saffron, not curcuma). Not pills, nor extract, nothing strange, just plain ol' saffron. Here it is selled in very little containers carrying 0,2gr each in powder form. I pour about 1/5 of that in a glass of water and drink it every day. By now works fine. Its been about two months since I started.
Be careful if you try it. Large doses are poisonous. But if you keep in the range that is used for cooking it should be fine.
Good luck!
Edit: It stopped working! Does nothing anymore (its been 3 days with no effect).
There's a post here called "the saffron ginkgo rollercoaster" in which the user describes something like this (in a shorter cycle than mine apparently) he stops taking it and gets fine again for another while.
Hi! New here. Good results with saffron

Thanks for sharing.
When you say good results what do you mean?
% improvement?

Hi,
I'd say about 90%.
My troubles were just about libido and erection. I had no brain fog, tinnitus, nothing. I have anxiety disorders since I remember but that didn't change and was not caused by any drug.

I don't mean to sour your improvement post, but benzos and SSRIs work on two very different systems. I don't think the issue you have can be labeled as PSSD. Although benzo withdrawal is also known to be very rough and sometimes long lasting

Hi Heymartinn. You're right. I mixed up the name of the drug. I meant to say "paroxetine" together with benzos (I edited it now)

Look great! But you didn't have genital numbness or anhedonia?Llonyddwch wrote: ↑Thu Nov 07, 2024 11:33 pm Hi,

I took saffron extract once and it didn't improve me at all (maybe worst).
How did it take to be effective?

Hi Impermanence! No. I didn't have noticeable numbness. Maybe a very very subtle anhedonia but in levels that could be due to any other factor. The saffron I take is not an extract. Its just saffron, the powder you use for cooking (not curcuma). I would expect an extract to be more effective... but if it did nothing for you maybe you can try a bit of the raw powder. For me it took about 3 or 4 days to do something. Previously I tried tribulus, maca, astragalus and a lot of other herbs with zero effect. Only fenugreek had some sort of effect but was unclear. Sometimes it did it and sometimes not. I couldn't determine why it did that.
