On sexual desire systems and loss of libido [Part 1]
On sexual desire systems and loss of libido [Part 1]
Originally, I wanted to write one big article with all the details. It would have been 90+ min read. It's a LOT of info to digest for anyone, so I decided instead to cut the article in smaller parts, each part 10 min read give or take.

Very interesting, looking forward to part 2! Really appreciate all of your effort!

Cool text. Getting so much of systematic description in 10-15 minutes is very cool.
So one question bothered me and just checked and found that In frontotemporal dementia mPFC is malfunctional.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24078043
FTD patients were described having sexually disinhibited behavior (unusual in their age). They are given same drugs as offenders, Even more experimental, like carbamazepine https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22217950
Also recently found that in schizophrenia there's a poor functional connectivity between mPFC and amygdala leading to a problem with emotional control/recognition.
https://www.researchgate.net/publicatio ... _Disorders
And in porn addiction striatum <<==>>mPFC?
So are pssd sufferers more inhibited or disinhibited now? Where is additional breakpoint in BLA or nACC? Because I don't doubt that impulsivity existed earlier and doubt it is cured in pssd state.

Also people report losing their ocd. Could it be related?
Re: On sexual desire systems and loss of libido [Part 1]
Interesting, some people report losing part of the sense of thirst or hunger as well. Great work meso
Brief Symptoms:
PE - Anhedonia, less emotions - Test Atrophy - Numb body - Lowered libido = ED
24/7 tension, stress. Worse with lack of sleep, hungry, ill
"Pure-O"
Visual Snow Syndrome + DP/DR + Tinnitus
Insomnia, Fatigue
see intro for more

Nice work. Funny how often estradiol/E2 is overlooked with regard to male libido, yet it appears to be the most vital component.
Fluoxetine Jan. '16 - Aug. 16'. Low libido, weak erections, CNS dysfunction, anhedonia
Windows on the following: Inositol, choline, NAC + Histidine, MSM, SJW, L-Arginine, Sildenafil, Naltrexone, boron

Re: On sexual desire systems and loss of libido [Part 1]
Great article! I heard that libido is opposite to anxiety and empathy.
From what I understood, lowering dopamine in Nac and mPOA should induce my empathy. I always got worse after orgasm, I became very empathetic.
And it gave me food for thought as you wrote about the ratio D1: D2 in ovulation- I suspect that D1 increase libido lowered empathy and D2 increase empathy and my bad symptoms.
Risperidone is strong D2 antagonist, maybe upregulate my D2 and downregulate D1 and cause my symptoms 10 years ago. In herbpedia peoples wrote that D2 receptor is dissociative, separates from the outside world and D1 is euphoric receptor which work opposite to D2. JayR also wrote about D1- decrease social prejudice, anxiety and increase motivation, youthfull feeling and creativity.
When will you look at me?
Kpavel- I'm very surprised that carbamazepine is used to inhibited sexual behaviour, maybe it is used to create PAWS. I have carbamazepine PAWS, i remeber what increase 400 carbamazepine to 800 in summer 2017- this is very euphoric, strong motivation, emotional blunting, disinhibition like hipomania in bipolar with drymouth, constipation and pupil dilation, but tolerance developed quickly and decrease dose in autumn 2017 create strong persistant PAWS. Very dopamine release drug.

Thanks meso for your efforts and support : D
This is very simplistic, but meaby high serotonin ir impairing androgens receptors. Or to much serotonin is binding antisexual 5ht receptorsnaiverat wrote:Nice work. Funny how often estradiol/E2 is overlooked with regard to male libido, yet it appears to be the most vital component.

Oh, well, there are definitely other contributing factors to libido. I'm just saying, usually when we think of low libido in males, it's immediately attributed to low testosterone while estradiol is seem as "the feminine hormone." That said, you need enough free T to aromatize to E2 as well.succubus76 wrote:Thanks meso for your efforts and support : D
