Watery semen and low semen volume - what could be the cause?

This is for hypothesis and even educated speculation.

There is no discussion on what could be the cause of it. I think that 5ht1-a theory doesn't explain this - how could desensitization of a brain receptor could lead to such a symptom? I think that something else besides that must be screwed.

Low FSH? (I have it near the lower end of range, but still in the range)
HPA disregulation?
Hormone/steroid disturbances?

Also - what about the cases when people took SSRI's for days or only weeks? Is such time sufficient for 5ht1-a desensitization?
The TRPV1 channels get downregulated from Chronic SSRI treatment, leading to low gonadal blood flow, slow nutrient delivery, leading to watery semen and infertility characteristics. Take a good multi-vitamin and Swedish Flower Pollen + Lecithin.

I took a sperm test this week.

The sperm's parameters are okay (percentage of living spermatozoids etc.)
Only the quantity is very low (0.5 ml) and consistency is watery.

I don't think this explains the fact that while I was 18 months on paxil my semen still looked normal, and that it got worse only after the drug was discontinued.

alteredhomeostasis wrote:Semen volume is just a function of arousal. If you spend a long time masturbating then you will have more volume. Personally since PSSD gave me premature ejacualtion, my load is usually very thick. It's only larger in volume when I take longer to bust.

Either way, this is just a symptom and doesn't seem relevant to the greater discussion.
My experience has been consistent with this. I had 2 x 250IU HCG injections. I did comprehensive blood tests before and after.

I had system increases in LH, FSH, progesterone, DHEA-S, testosterone and estradiol (both non-sensitive and sensitive) but afterwards I actually felt worse (I can create a thread regarding this if anyone is interested in seeing the before and after results with timing of injections. I stopped due to side effects).

On those odd days where there is a mini-window or watching a lot of porn that is stimulating, I get a lot more semen come out. When I'm not really aroused and I masturbate, not much comes out and it is watery. When I do get a window, it feels like a switch is turned on (very on/off) and my erections are easier and there is a lot more blood flow down there.
