Elevated creatine kinase and leukocyte count

Unread post by DrugsAreBad »

I had a test done of most of my hormones and found two of them were elevated: creatine kinase and leukocyte count. This may indicate high levels of serotonin.
There is no specific test for serotonin syndrome. An elevation of the total creatine kinase and leukocyte count and elevated transaminase levels or lower bicarbonate levels have been reported.[1]
My results:

Creatine kinase: 18,2 kat/L, where the upper limit is 3.34 µkat/L [2]
Leukocyte count: 12,3, where the upper limit is 4,8 [3]

All other (20 or so) values were within normal ranges. It would be interesting to compare these values if someone else has also had bloodwork done. The quote above also mentions transaminase levels and bicarbonate levels, but unfortunately those were not measured on me. If you do have blood work done, make sure to include these in addition to creatine kinase and leukocyte count.
