100% fine now*

Unread post by brian6211 »

Hey Guys,

I felt like dropping by and letting you all know that I'm pretty much fully recovered from about 1 1/2 year of PSSD.

I got a promotion at work 2 1/2 months ago which made my anxiety and OCD go up drastically. I treated it with Mirtazapine(Remeron-original brand) and things went very well in controlling and shaving off the anxiety. Without it I would been screwed and I'm sure I would of lost my job lol. Yes with mirtazapine the sex drive diminished and had slight erectile dysfunction. But after 3 days off of mirtazapine, it completely comes back 100% functional.

My psychiatrist and psychologist, PhD. both told me to restart another SSRI and they're still believing that I never had PSSD. They both thought it was all in my head went it was obvious to me that I had a real problem.

I still take inositol 18g once in a while for controlling my OCD and anxiety and I keep a stash of mirtazapine(remeron 7.5mg) nearby for when I fall in crisis mode.

Anyway, just wanted to come back and say that I'm fully recovered and for me all came back just fine. Send me a msg if any of you have any questions and please refer to my previous posts to know what it was for me with PSSD and trying so many different things. Time fixed it for me and I found that red wine helped while with PSSD to have sex while other types of alcohol made the PSSD worse. CIalis was good friend as well LOL and it worked magic!

Best regards,

Brian6211

Edit: Forgot to mention that I stopped smoking cigarettes/e-cig in January 2016.

Have you recovered before starting remeron or after? Do you think Inositol helped you in recovery? And one more, did you have Anhedonia, if yes, did it go away?

Let me get this right... You had PSSD for a year and half went on Mirtazapine then came off, and had a 100% sex drive after 3 days?

Yes I did recover before remeron. I took remeron recently only because of promotion at work. I recently stopped remeron and when I wason it I wasn't taking any during weekends. I don't think inositol helped pssd, might of made it slightly worse for me. I take inostitol for anxiety and OCD but not everyday. Never had anhedonia.

No.

I had pssd for a 1 1/2 year. Then my sex drive was back to normal. Then 3 months ago I went on remeron due to promotion at work. Now I'm off of remeron.

About the 3 days...When I take remeron, it lowers my sex drive and affects my erection. But whenever I get off remeron, 3 days later my sexual function is back to 100%.

Sounds like you never had PSSD if your sex drive came back 3 days after you stopped taking the meds.

Hi Brian,

I understand what you're saying. That's really exciting you recovered! I read your other posts and you said you had numbness. Did that slowky get better over time or did the sensitivity return fast near the end of the 1 1/2 years?

Also was your orgasm affected? Did you have any libido or arousal at all when you had pssd? Did that slowly return or came back faster?

I feel like a tiny bit of my sensitivity is returning after almost 7 months. My orgasm is slightly better. But still zero arousal and libido :/

Thank you for sharing this super important update...stories of recovery are so rare.....so thank you!!

Ps don't take anymore pharmaceuticals....even not an ssri can mess up the balance of recovery

Im trying to understand your post. You said you PSSD for a year and a half then went on Mirtazapine, and once you came off of Mirtazapine your sex drive returned 100%

In that 1.5 years of PSSD were you on any other meds, or were you med free in that 1.5 years?

Did you have a sex drive before taking Mirtazapine?

What gave you PSSD to begin with?

1) Yes it slowly got better. Extremely slow gradual improvement.
2) Well I was so numb down there that I didn't feel the orgasm as much.
3) Libido was the last thing to come back.
4) I need to take something especially when there's change, even the slightest change brings up anxiety.

I suggest you find my old posts.

I was on lexapro 10mg for 1 year 7 months. Then PSSD started and lasted around 1.5yrs. I took mirtazapine just recently due to promotion at work.

During the 1.5 yrs I tried so many different supplements. But no meds.
