I had no idea this was possible and my ignorance got me here. But, I don't deserve this, none of us do. I'm dealing with at least 10 different symptoms. If I have to reinstate an SSRI and start over I will. I just need some relief.

These may help

The questions that you are asking about PSSD are mostly unknown, and that's what makes PSSD so scary. However, there is hope, and the best thing that you can do for your recovery at this point is to try and relax as much as you can. It's still fairly likely to go away at this point.

I see they tested the usual. However did they test the hormones related to libido like dopamine, oxytocin, and serotonin?

Porn was a bad idea, when I climaxed felt incredible but I felt light i was ruthee afterwards. I woke up mid and felt light my senses were dulled even more. My sense of smell dull and hearing as well. On the bright side my sleep seems to be improving. Dreams are very very vivid. Does anyone have any idea if sense of smell returns after awhile?

There are plenty of other SSRI side-effects that people have that aren't PSSD. That's more of what is classified as Post-SSRI Syndrome (PSS), and that can come with or without PSSD. I'd actually say that there might be just as many or more people who don't have PSSD as a main symptom, but have other symptoms. The thing is that they don't come to this forum, and the PSSD is what most people can not handle/ it drives them to come online to investigate it.

I might look at survivingantidepressants.org they have a lot of support for people who have more than just PSSD.

Shadow
My sense of smell had completely vanished, however its back after about 7/8 months of quitting SSRIs. Its still not as good as it used to be Pre SSRIs, but its much better and Im now comfortable with it.
It might be a co-incidence, but it came back within one month of starting homeopathic medicine. Since homeopathy is scarcely understood, I wouldn't make any claims, but neither would I like to discredit it.

what can be done to alleviate the suffering. help.

Unread post by Shadow »

I envy those of us that have pssd but retain their emotions. To me emotions are life, without them is a waste of time. Emotions are what interfaces us with our natural world. Our senses are linked to them. I suffer from lack of higher emotions and diminished sense of smell. I would trade my libido and sexual functions for someone who has emotions without even blinking. Anyone, what can be done to alleviate the pain of low dopamine? I just need a little relief to carry me through this. The lack of sleep, the ringing in ear, the constipation, dry throat and eyes pale in comparison to the lack of emotions. This is driving me to suicide and I never would of imagine me considering that an option. please help........
