For me, it is far away of being a fix.
But things get even worse when I am off citalopram. 6 days since I stopped and no erections at all, no brief moments of libido. Nothing at all. I guess I will give up this next try of ssri free.

I was taking 10 mg for 6 months. Went "cold turkey", but the dose is small

So you had a sex drive while on the low dose?

Not really. But I had some erections during the day and felt like faping sometimes. It is almost nothing, I know, but believe me, things can get a lot worse and anhedonic down there

pete wrote:Thanks Ghost. What do you think about low dosing ssri as possible cure? Does it make any sense?
Just to corroborate Pete's experience, I have recently tried going back on to sertraline. I have been taking 50mg per day for 2.5 weeks now. In the first 4 days I saw improvements I hadn't felt in literally months. Specifically, I was genuinely really horny again, masturbating was enjoyable again (like, full body experience, heart racing etc.) and orgasm intensely pleasurable. No improvement in complete genital numbness, but it felt like if it had carried on improving that that would have been the next thing.

Unfortunately after day 4 things went back pretty much to how I have been the past 9 months, and I've not improved since. I'll be coming off the sertraline at the end of week 3, to see how my body responds. I guess the point here is that going back onto SSRIs can fuck around with your system in some way that could re-set you back to normal, or at least set you on the path. I may well try Pete's suggestion of doing it just for 2 or 3 days, and see what happens (as I do wonder what might have happened had I just stopped after day 4). I'll update as I go along.

Status Update
Since this low dosing i'm recovering pretty fast.
Waves are coming more often, lasting longer and getting more intensive from week to week.
Something got activated back again. The cycle is broken.

So you are still using the intermittent low dose?

Were you still getting windows before this, except now they are more frequent?

How long have you been off antidepressants and how long were you on for?

I am scared to retry any of these meds, but this infrequent microdosing seems like an interesting option.

Pete, for how long have you had PSSD and which was the offending SSRI?
