Re: Mianserin
Well... doctors might be wrong... again.
Even the drugs instruction states that the exact mechanism of its action is unknown.
I really feel mianserin gave me PSSD.
I got everything from it: genital numbness, watery semen, pleasureless orgasms as well as loss of libido.
The effects emerged about 2 months after start of treatment....
Spoke to at least 2 guys on internet who had the same devastating experience with mianserin... so beware.

Re: Mianserin
My story is here:
http://www.pssdforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=1895
I am still afraid that mianserin's tinkering with receptors could have somehow damaged them.
Even almost 6 months since the last dose I still do not feel like my "old self".
I assume it is partly due to the too quick tapering as I wen from 50 mg to 22 mg very, very quickly (3-4 days if I remember correctly).
Then went from 22mg to 7.5mg also very quickly..... The effects were hardly bearable.
3 months of incredible insomnia, derealisation etc.....
The tragedy is that I kept thinking the problem actually was risperidone which I took just for 12 days @ 4 mg (potent dose but really short-term). Even when I CT'ed from risperidone (which is a neuroleptic and assumed to be a great way more powerful than antidepressant such as mianserin), it took withdrawal only a day or two to dissipate.........

Re: Mianserin
I have taken Mianserin (Tolvon) 3 weeks now. Haven´t notice any difference yet. For me Mianserin doesn´t help me sleep. It´s early to say is it helping me with depression, but so far it hasn´t. Only thing I´ve noticed that I´ve gained 4kg and appetite has increased...
