Re: RXISK Issues $100,000 Prize for the Cure For PSSD
waisting money for what ?
some kind of feeling"someone else will find the cure, i paid 200 bucks now can hang out my pssd state" ?
better donate yourself medical diagnostic and stuff. if 250 forum people do only one therapy or drug in month... we
will discover much faster a solution.
we maybe need some update thread with "current testing stuff - updated list"

Someone's probably watching the forum ready to swoop in and claim $100k for something to do with progesterone ... I hope so anyway, because that would mean a cure is near.
21, male, extreme pssd for four years
Tried inositol (slight improvements) cialis (very limited improvements) yohimbine (slight improvements) maca root (no effect) bacopa monieri (no effect) estradiol-17b (pronounced improvement in all areas of sexuality)

Dr. Healy is very determined to find a cure and you are really thinking you are on a better path or closer to the cure than him? Should we better spend this money for useless supplements and waste years after years? You can't be serious.north4 wrote:waisting money for what ?

This man studies PSSD/PFS for ages and now he's making a real job of it.

I just donated $250. If nothing else it brings more awarness to these issues.
Re: RXISK Issues $100,000 Prize for the Cure For PSSD
Dr Healy's view on pssd is the most ridiculus thing ever heard. His research is really shallow and poor. He thinks PSSD has nothing to do with the brain and it has to do with peripheral issues and spine nerve signals. There is no scientific evidence for that at all.Kinncrimson wrote:Dr. Healy is very determined to find a cure and you are really thinking you are on a better path or closer to the cure than him? Furthermore, 100.000$ is an extremely low price for any serious scientific research to be funded on that. What drug company will be interested to invest millions of dollars to find a cure for pssd for the prize of 100.000$? The amount is ridicoulusly low.
However it will fit perfect for David Healy's new, big SUV.
After all that beign said, im still willing to donate and believe everybody should, this is one of our very few hopes.
After all, the whole thing will raise awareness, if anything.
I REALLY HOPE im wrong and a cure will come out of it.
PSSD after 9 days on cipralex 10mg (escitalopram), July 2013.
Had sexual sides from the first dose. Developed full pssd after i stopped.
Slowly improved to 70% of normal within 3.5 years.
"Crashed" again on April 2017.
Severe pssd again.

Can somebody sticky this thread or a link about the rxisk prize page that is now in their menu bar home page? So this doesnt get unseen by new people? It could be this important right?

First of all I agree with you that Davids vision of PSSD is(was?) messed up. He seems to be much more open minded now.Jones wrote:Dr Healy's view on pssd is the most ridiculus thing ever heard. The main point is avoiding the traditional research, wich cost A LOT OF MONEY and take A LOT OF TIME.
Theres a lot of treatments(even cures) for diseases out there, with mechanisms of action that are poorly understood(take as an example the people who got rid of cancer using cannabis extracts).
At least hes doing something! I think that its a very good strategy! But as you said, the prize is too low! And, its hard to gather money when we cant prove that our condition is real.
