DGS94 Intro

Hey @Mesolimbo, thanks for all the work you've been putting in man! Here's my info:

1- What is your gender?
Male - 24 years old
2- Why did you take antidepressants in the first place? and for how long were you on them? which med?
For 'depression' (I was mainly just sad after a breakup, and had/have issues with anxiety from a traumatic childhood).
I took Pristiq (desvenlafaxine) for about 6 months. 50mg with no issue, then when dose was upped to 100mg daily I started experiencing sexual dysfunction. Due to this I was switched to Valdoxan for a few months (no improvement sexually or otherwise), then Moclobemide for a few months before stopping ADs entirely (same story as Valdoxan).
3- How was your sexual and emotional function before antidepressant intake?
Sexual function was perfect, really high libido (perhaps excessive?). Emotionally I've always had anger issues, they were worse as a child/teen, but still persist. I've also had issues with anxiety (social and general) since the age of about 17.
4- What are your symptoms exactly and when did they start? sexual dyfunction alone, or cognitive/emotional/hedonistic as well? which symptom is bothering you the most?
Complete sexual dysfunction (no libido, erectile dysfunction, genital anaesthesia, low pleasure on orgasm, less ejaculate).
Memory and comprehension issues, poor response to stress.
Really blunted emotions (no excitement, blunted happiness, zero love/romantic feelings (oxytocin?))
Bothered most by all of it really, but mostly the sexual function I'd say.
5- What meds/suppplements have you tried so far?
Inositol/choline (no success)
Ella + progesterone (no success)
Viagra/Cialis (no success)
Just began microdosing LSD (we'll see!)
L-Dopa (no success)
Gingko Biloba (no success, didn't trial for long)
Cooper + potassium + magnesium (no success)
Sam-E + zinc, selenium, b12, iodine, horny goat weed, Siberian ginseng, tribulus, shatavati (no success)
Anavar (no success)
6- Do you have access to meds without prescription (buy online), or would strictly require a prescription for meds to try?
I'd happily order meds online, living in Australia makes it a bit tough sometimes, but I'm sure I can manage to order whatever is needed.
7- Can you tolerate galicky foods? what about proteins?
No food intolerances
8- Have you done any blood testing? what were the results?
Had all standard hormones tested, including progesterone. All in range.

Hey bro! Just trying to help.

You suffer from the complex PSSD type with all symptoms present, including sexual and non-sexual symptoms. It's similar to the type I suffer from. For this type, there's a stignificant glutamatergic, cholinergic, and dopaminergic dysfunction - with postsynaptic 5HT1A desensitization, causing blunted oxytocin and beta-endorphin release.

Since it's complex, I like to take is slow with drugs. I recommend:
- Baclofen: 25 mg b.i.d.

You will notice that I recommend Baclofen a lot on this forum for this type of complex PSSD. Baclofen indirectly inhibits presynaptic 5HT1A receptors, causing serotonin release to postsynaptic 5HT1A - increasing oxytocin and beta-endorphin. Please try this first and report back after a week, then we'll take it from there.

Alright, sounds like a good place to start. Do you think I can continue microdosing LSD, (~11ug every third day) with no counteractive effects?

It'll take a while for me to have the medication shipped, but as soon as it arrives I'll start and report back! Thanks again.

Yes, microdosing LSD or Psilocybin is an essential step to restore long-term potentiation (LTP) and curing PSSD. But it's not the time to address this yet.

Hey @Mesolimbo, the Baclofen has arrived. I tried it for a couple of days, and did notice I felt more emotional (teared up at the thought of a memory from my childhood). For some reason I stopped for 3 days, but I've just started the 2x25mg dose again today. I've noticed you recommend higher doses sometimes. Do you think it might be worth me trying a higher dose to see if it's beneficial to me? Thanks man!

Great to hear that you are seeing benefit. Nowadays I think of Baclofen as a probing tool for presynaptic 5HT1A supersensitivity, which seems you are suffering from since Baclofen indirectly inhibits these receptors and cause postsynaptic activation -> improvement of anhedonia and blunted affect.

Remain at this dose but be wary of tolerance issues, take 3 days break every week, or consider adding Memantine. Also, if you are interested in a cure, keep watching my cure thread because I'm seeing awesome result on my current regimen, but I've to see it through before recommending it to others.

Cool cool, I'll stay at this dose. By 3 days break every week, do you mean 4 days on, 3 days off, or 7 days on, 3 days off?

I've been following closely, it's super exciting to read man! Happy you're feeling better than you were 4 or so days ago.

4 days on, 3 days off. You can also add Fasoracetam for tolerance, since it upregulates GABA-B receptors.

My regimen is working even better than my previous symptomatic relief regimen. I feel 100% symptom free now, and even better, it's cheaper and it's a real hope for a cure. Here's hoping that after 4-6 months I'll be cured.

Awesome, thank you for that Meso.

That's great news, I'd give anything for this mess to be solved. I wish you luck! I'll be sure to follow closely.

Hey @Meso, little update:
The first week on Baclofen seemed to be pretty effective. I felt more loving toward my girlfriend, and felt teary a couple of times from shows/movies/music. I'm back on day 3 of week 2, and the effects seem somewhat diminished, but still present. Also, I had no sexual improvement (but that was expected from others' experiences so far?)

Another thing I just realised I didn't mention in my initial post, while I was on Pristiq, I was taking pretty silly amounts of MDMA and speed fairly frequently (at times every weekend). Would that point your theory on my PSSD type in one direction or another?
