Yup. Have you read "The emperor's new drugs" by Irving Kirsch?

Placebo, Nocebo, you name it.

Kirsch says they may be "active placebos" drugs meant to cause *side effects* as being actually the only thing the drug does, since it does something, the patient thinks is not placebo and does the trick.. depressed about being depressed? take something labeled as "antidepressant" by the medical community and with such a cultural weight that one's conditioned. I disagree with this last suspiciousness of it being "active placebos" though.
