Pssd could be an ghrelin dysfunction induced by serotonin 2c antagonism that caused antibodies on that same receptor

This is for hypothesis and even educated speculation.

As the title says that's my theory and I will explain it soon, it literally explains every symptom.
I will just to have to take some time of my day to formulate it.

The study’s findings confirm the role of Ghrelin in the increase of sexual activity and offer promising insights regarding the cause and treatment of low libido. They also contribute to a further understanding of neurochemical mechanisms involved in sexual behaviour.

I don't get hunger sensation anymore. My stomach doesn't growl either. The body releases ghrelin to stimulate appetite. Research shows ghrelin is suppressed by insulin. Sert loss has been shown to increase insulin via elevated serotonin levels. My point is I think ghrelin suppression is a downstream effect of elevated serotonin from sert inhibition. Ghrelin may be responsible for hunger and sexual function but sert dysfunction needs to be reversed to normalize ghrelin levels.

Interesting, how you would explain it, since appetite sounds and is a hedonic stuff, but alpha-msh is prosexual and supports @male@ hormones too (oppositely to NPY or AgRP). Perhaps high dose DHA could be a solution, that at least theoretically helps to downregulate 5ht2cr and affect ghrelin. Ghrelin would increase dopamine and sure is better with reduced serotonin. Sleep deprivation may increase its levels.

It's an interesting idea. I note that a new paper on the gut microbiome suggests that the bacteria influence inflammation and insulin resistance which in turn alter leptin and ghrelin...

I'm not sold on the microbiome theories for PSSD, but it is interesting that scientists are linking the gut and sexual function.

Some personal facts about this topic.
When I’am anxious I feel hunger many times and taking SSRI (or benzos) remove my hunger and the imminent need to eat.

The antibodies part is interesting to me. Could it be some people get pssd because they have stronger immune systems, or immune systems that for some reason look at the ssri differently. It could maybe explain how some people get pssd after just 1 pill. I wonder if rate and strength of onboarding could effect that.

A new study came out about sunlight stimulating ghrelin production in males. Carmit Levy and Roma Parikh, co-authors of this study, also published a previous study showing that sunlight effects the libido but not in mice with the p-53 protein in the skin knocked out.

Wouldn't Ghrelin dysfunction cause a reduced appetite? Mine is no lower.
