Need some guidance.

I have had pssd for 3 yrs now. I tried supplements for 1 yr, then I decided to detox my body and eat very clean and get off all toxic things. Now for 80% days I'm 70% pre pssd but on the other days I have severe ED. The bad wave can last from 3-10 days and sometimes for 2 whole months I'm fine. Does anyone know why these waves happen and if I can try anything which is safe and can't worsen pssd. I don't change anything during those bad days and dunno what's causing it.

My situation is very similar to yours. I've had PSSD for 4.5 years. The first 2 years there was no improvements. The third year I had a window lasting four months. The fourth year I had a window lasting 5-6 months that just ended. There's nothing to do but wait. The body isn't going to heal completely all at once. Hopefully within a few years the waves will be gone or close to gone.

After the 4 month window how long was the bad wave for you?

It went on for months. It was the worst wave I ever had.

I think the waviness is pretty normal. But myself, I didn't have long duration waves like most people here except at the very start in Dec to Feb, after that the waves became in the order of minutes to a 12 hours, not more than a day or 2 at the worst. My symptoms are so varied that each bad wave is something different and only usually one or 2 things tops out of 100+ different symptoms I have had. And even the location in the body is not always the same. Over time some symptoms have disappeared completely and the remaining ones are far less frequent and much shorter lived too.

In my research with a generalized condition called PAWS with PSSD fitting under this broader term, these waves are normal and they can last several months to several years depending on the substance, how much it was used and now long for and the age of the person and if other substance abuse is also a big factor, genetics too and environment. Lots of factors.

For me it has improved with time. At the start the good days used to be 2 or 3 out of 30 days but with time I have started to have 20 good days a month on avg but it's like having 3 full good months then 15 bad days at a stretch.

Yes, sounds very much like what Dr Snipes talked about on persistent withdrawals. She used the example that you can be fine for 3 months and out of nowhere you have a wave of symptoms for a while. But slowly slowly it get further and further apart.

I am back to this forum and it's end of 2023 and I still get waves. On my good days I feel like I should be in Thailand. The morning erections are so hard that I feel like tearing open the mattress but on bad days I don't get morning erections and porn gives no feeling. In my waves I can have sex with my wife if I get too much foreplay but otherwise no feelings.
