crashed from topical 5AR inhibitor?

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has any experience using topical 5AR inhibitors such as azelaic acid, saw palmetto, ketaconazole , etc. or topical retinol/tretinoin.
I seem to have severely crashed from use of The Ordinary Azelaic Acid 10% cream over a month ago but the same week I also used two applications of 0.025% tretinoin. I have a difficult time believing either of these could do damage as topicals but I guess they are absorbed in small amounts systemically? There are also reports on topical finasteride causing full blown PFS so I guess the possibility is there.
In hindsight I had zero clue azelaic acid functioned as a 5AR inhibitor to begin with and wouldn’t have used it. I’d appreciate any experience or input if anyone has any.
