Genital Anesthesia Treatments/Orgamsic Dysfunction Treatment

Unread post by justprocess1 »

Hello!

Has anyone had any success with treating the Genital Anesthesia portion of PSSD? It turns out I can have sex, when with a women. And if I use viagra I can perform quite well. It just doesn't feel great. Any experimentations I should be aware of?

Thanks!

Hello,

Do you manage to feel a little sexual pleasure? Or do you feel zero/10?

A year and a half ago, I was at 2/10 of pleasure.

I went up to 4/10 with 150 mg of bupropion XL in 3 days! It was super encouraging. This effect lasted several months.

When I upped the dose to 300 mg, I went back down to my base level (2/10).

150 mg bupropion + 20 mg buspirone made me calmer and my sensory experience more qualitative (better sensory attention).

Then I had the idea of switching back to bupropion. And then surprise! A window of 6/10 pleasure with 300 mg bupropion and 20 mg buspirone a day.

Unfortunately, I had insomnia and stopped.

But if I had to do it all over again, I'd try to manage the insomnia with 1g of arginine at bedtime. I've recently noticed that it helps me sleep through medication-induced insomnia. If that's not enough, I'll try increasing the dose and/or combining it with melatonin.

Then I tried flibanserin, but it made me feel worse. My bodily sensations of pleasure diminished and my mood worsened (I became desperate).

When I stopped all the medication, I fell to 0/10 sensations, i.e. below my baseline.

A few months ago, I tried to reintroduce bupropion but had no benefit on sensations. According to what I've read, bupropion acts mainly on noradrenaline. This neurotransmitter can amplify the sensations experienced in an inverted U-shaped curve. Since I'm at zero, it makes sense: 0*X=0

Right now I'm trying to get my pleasure back up. I've started taking NAC. I read on Reddit that one person had lasting improvements with 1500 mg a day. These improvements were maintained even after stopping NAC.

Glutamate deregulation is suspected in anhedonia problems.

Stay tuned!

If you experience improvements in sexual pleasure, let us know!

PS: I am a woman

Other people have experienced improvements in pleasure with other substances. I've listed them all in a table : https://coda.io/d/Treatment-options-for ... Onz#_lu6pc

You can filter treatments according to your symptoms (erectile dysfunction, loss of libido, sexual pleasure, orgasm...) using the "Could be good for" button.
You can search for a substance using the Search bar on the top right of the table

Fenugreek - Trigonella foenum-graecum could be interesting for orgasm and pleasure.

I've read Flibanserine moderately antagonize D4 Receptors, could this be related to your discomfort ?

In my opinion, what was unpleasant for me about flibanserin was its POST-synaptic agonist of 5-HT1A receptors (I felt very hopeless on it - it was chemical despair)

Buspirone, which is a PRE-synaptic 5HT1A agonist, tends to make you feel hopeful :-D

That's very interesting :) I had a similar effect (despair) only with Ashwagandha.
