Anyone else start questioning whether their libido is a libido?

Unread post by Wantmyclitorisback »

I'm driving myself crazy questioning my libido ATM. I think about sex a lot but because my body doesn't respond I find myself anxiously questioning whether I am thinking about sex because I want sex or whether I'm thinking about sex because I want to want sex....

I can 100% confirm that getting so anxious about reduced arousal is a very quick way to completely destroy all arousal......

I too sometimes think about sex or engage in (limited) sexual behavior, but never experience emotional arousal or pleasurable sensations.

The neurological circuits involved in sexual behavior are independent of the arousal felt, and these too are independent of the pleasure experienced.

Of course, when a brain is functioning well, all these networks work together at the same time, exciting each other.

Cheer up.

I am familiar with this feeling. Sort of obsession with "sex" because your sex life is messed up, but without the actual libido... Very confusing and distressing. I think about sex a lot, and I have zero libido. This is very bizarre.
