I have to take SSRIs - any advice? - adam24 OP

Ok I have tried many different non ssris for the past 3 years (the worst 3 years of my life) without success.

Tommorrow I should be getting a prescription to go back on them (SSRIs) becauser nothing else works for me.

I have Fibromyalgia as well as Depression and OCD (I have had this for 31 years)


I do intend to keep taking Dopamine Agonists (both for Fibromyalgia and Sexual dysfunction).

Any advice from any one would be appreciated?

how were you doing those other 31 years ?
I mean were you able to survive without medications?

is there nothing else you can choose, other than SSRI's and why do you think you have to have them ?

how is it going with the dopamine agonists, which one are you taking, and did it help you with sexual function?

Hi Michael,

I have not tried the DAs yet but am back on Prosac which I was on from 1993 to 2008.

I have spent 3 years trying non SSRIs without success.

From 1981 to 1993 I had no medication, no sexula dysfunction but severe symptoms of physical and mental pain and depression.

I don't know much about medications myself. I never used any medications when I was growing up. I had a very good and normal childhood, and a productive adult life basically.

my mom got mad at me (2010) due to me having 2 cars, I had a project car, it's kind of complicated and I don't want to get into it, but she had me visit a pschiatrist/psychologist and she said a bunch of mean things about me to the psychologist, that were basically false, and just wrong, and they prescribed me abilify 15 mg / day. I took that and thought it was no big deal, and it gave me a serious sexual problem, and we are working on a solution now (me and sonny)

I don't know much about medications , so I can't give you any advice regarding that. Sonny knows a lot about that.

I graduated elementary school in 1991. that was a long time ago, from my perspective. My first time I ever really used medication was around , probably 2006, with something from a psychologist prescribed to me, and then 2010 that abilfy stuff.
