Did Zero (Foxx) nailed it?
Did Zero (Foxx) nailed it?
Hi all out there,
while googling our problem i found this thread on bluelight.org which I found fairly interesting.
In particular answer number 9 written by the member called First Bad Come Down.
Here is the link: http://bluelight.org/vb/threads/644914- ... ous-thread
He thinks that pssd sufferers brain chemistry state is the same 24/7 as just had an orgasm.
All in all if i understood it correct he is on the similiar/same track as Zero (Foxx) who sees SERT-knockout as the main cause.
"...So you have hyperprolactinemia.
Caused by prefrontal SERT loss and subsequent hyper-stimulation of sub-prefrontal 1a receptors.
Remember the role of prolactin during orgasm?
It causes a surge in pleasure (according to me) and then SHUTS OFF sexual desire (according to everyone).
Well, your endocrine system (pituitary) is stuck in this mode.
You are living every moment of every day with the chemical equivalent of just having had an orgasm.
Your brain thinks you just came and all sexuality needs to be shut down...."
Personally i tested my serum prolactin which was at very high range, but still normal.
Same with serotonin: 380 ng/ml (40-400).
Thinking back at pre-SSRi state, there was "one time" when i sometimes had the thought: Somethings feels strange (a bit numb) down there, and that was immediatly after an orgasm.
Another in my opinion very important information. Some month before the SSRi-intake when my anxiety peaked, i remember that i masturbated, and immediately after I went downstairs to a chill-out room. Although there were lots of people i had ZERO anxiety. Some hours later everything (brain chemistry) was back to normal and so my anxiety.
The more i think about it the more it makes sense.
All best,
Recovery

Re: Did Zero nailed it?
Something that i think confuses people that blame SSRIs on their Anhedonia, is that severe depression is also Anhedonia.
They describe the symptoms as, music sounding like nothing, physical pleasure is numbed, no emotions, blank mind.
This is also caused by depression. It cannot be blamed on SSRIs as such.
It COULD be triggered by SSRIs, if you had a moderate depression/anxiety issue before touching an SSRI.
But there's people out there who experience this severe Anhedonia without having touched an SSRI. and the treatment is the same, using broad action drugs.

What you decribed might be the case for some people.jaiho wrote:Something that i think confuses people that blame SSRIs on their Anhedonia, is that severe depression is also Anhedonia.

But I can tell for SURE, even at my darkest days i had loads of energy, aggression, libido, strength...
Now i feel kind of week even after an 8 hours sleep.

So, what happens if we try to lower prolactin? Can we expect some improvement regarding libido?
Cipralex (escitalopram) from september 2012 to september 2013. Forgot exact dosage. PSSD improving since taking 20g MSM powder per day, no porn and regular heavy lifting fitness routine. Stay strong!
Re: Did Zero (Foxx) nailed it?
Simple, he should have focused at least 50% on the solution or recommended treatment, tried it himself, told us... Common-sense. I guess there are one or two little sentenced in all that stuff where some things are HINTED at. It's always so annoying with this.
But by the way, SERT seems more interesting here than prolactin, which should just be a side effect, the kind that would be easily cured by many known methods (I think raising dopamine).

Bro, only minority of PSSD sufferers do not respond to those thingszadig777 wrote:no he didn't

My bad about the meaningless double post.
I meant to say isn't this where metergoline would be the most logical things take?

Re: Did Zero (Foxx) nailed it?
I used cabergoline and she killed me prolactin and cortisol. It did not give me anything. I used other dopaminergic drugs and it did not help. Only re-use of SSRI immediately removed pssd for me, but only for 2 days ...
I have the perfect level of Total Testosterone and Free Testosterone. I have a problem with Cortisol, Prolactin and Progesterone.
After only a few tablets of escitalopram I had strong pssd, which to stay with me.
and taking several fluoxetine tablets removed me pssd.
These drugs turn something on and off in our heads.
