Over the last few weeks I've gone to a few doctors looking for some answers but nothing really came of that. I saw a Psychiatrist who recommended I go back on Fluoxitine (not about to do that anytime soon). I saw a urologist who gave me a prescription for Viagra (he couldn't find anything wrong with me which led him to believe my symptoms must be psychological - I don't dismiss the possibility except for the fact I was fine until I added Seroquel to the Fluoxitine). And I have also been to a Psychologist which has offered little help, but doesn't dismiss SSRI's as a the cause for all of this.

So where do I go from here? Chances are I will just continue to wait and see if anything improves. Though everyday that goes past makes me believe it's not going to without some sort of treatment. This is really a vicious cycle, because I don't know if it's these symptoms making me feel depressed or the other way around? I know I wasn't depressed until this all began.

It's weird because I don't really feel anxious like I did while taking Fluoxitine. I don't have all my weird OCD symptoms anymore either. It has created a sense of apathy about everything in life. I really don't know what the combination of drugs did to switch off these things off. Maybe someone has some idea?

Also, the way I figure it, let's suppose in the worst case I have ED and numb genitals for the rest of my life (holy fuck I hope not), at least I could take the Viaga and function to some degree. But if I don't get back any sense of sexual desire or desire in things in general that's what's really going to get me.

Do these things indicate high or low Serotonin or Dopamine? If so I would still love to hear any possible suggestions for treatment of apathy/anhedonia/sexual desire (libido).
Hi Miguel, if Seroquel is what triggered you to get PSSD, then it may have downregulated your D2 receptors. In that case, forskolin, which up regulates D2 receptors may help. Or a D2 agonist such as metegoline. I'm in awe that doctors still so freely prescribe antipsychotics for a sleep aid. That's absolutely irresponsible and ridiculous on their part. But anyways, staying off all antidepressant medications is probably a smart idea. If your depression is bad, then St. John's Wort might hep with that. Also, exercise and doing things to get your mind of PSSD are the best long term-solutions to help you cope. It's tough, but ruminating about PSSD is a vicious cycle and is ultimately going to make you feel more depressed. Best of luck to you.

Hey siebs,

I appreciate your insights on this. I had actually added Forskolin to a list of things to order today.
I've read Inositol can also help with preventing low dopamine levels... Would it make sense to add that to the mix?

I am weary to taking too many supplements in case there are adverse interactions. I don't want to be over zealous in taking things I don't understand (obviously a lesson learned from Seroquel/Fluoxotine)

Yeah, I had to learn that the hard way. Use supplements as cautiously as possible and really do your research before using them. I would take one supplement at a time to be safe and to know which one helps, if any. I've heard that Inositol also upregulates D2 receptors, so it may help and it's relatively safe. I've personally tried both and Inositol didn't do much but forskolin helped significantly. I also suffered really bad withdrawals after quitting forskolin cold turkey so make sure not to do that. Let me know how forskolin works out for you though!

Fablecloth: Having read these forums for the last couple of months now I sense that giving yourself time to recover does seem to be the healthiest approach to this. Up until recently I was in pretty good shape but that came to a halt as soon as I began having these issues. So maybe I'll get back into the gym or something.

Giving yourself 2-3 years seems like a good way to take the pressure off and lowering the sense of urgency and panic that to fix this immediately. I guess my main hurdle with that is trusting that it will get better, but I've become more cynical and pessimistic with every new day. I suppose I'll try to be more optimistic, might make things easier.

Juvo: It's interesting your Endo said they knew what it was... Did they offer you any further explanation?

At this point it seems like waiting it out is just about the only thing that can be done. Hopefully some new light can be cast as far as treatments go.

We really didn't discuss treatments directly aimed at PSSD but he did say that getting thyroid levels optimized would only help the body.

Hey siebs1122,

Can you tell me what dosage of Forskolin and Metergoline you suggest?

Also where did you purchase Metergoline?
